Twofer Tuesday

After talking about these guys on BZ's post early last week, I've been addicted to this cd all over again. My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade. It might be a little too hard core for some of you. lol Afterall, it is what the kids are listening to today.

This was the song that origionally hooked me. Very cool video and I still love watching it.
MCR - Welcome to The Black Parade

And this is the song that I played over and over again. You know that one song on a cd that you just cant listen to enough?? This was it for me.

A drink for the horror that I'm in,
For the good guys, and the bad guys,
For the monsters that I've been.
Three cheers for tyranny,
Unapologetic apathy,
Cause there ain't no way that I'm coming back again.

Black parade - family favorite, Sleep, not so much! But hey it's your twofer tuesday, right? Just don't get caught in that black rut - you got a pink slip trying to make its way into your mailbox! Happy tuesday, Peedee!

Isn't that the guy from E.T.? Henry - something- something. That vision of the afterlife was a little grim, but creative! Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh, Gia, the whole album is awesome. Teenagers is another favorite. I wont be getting the pink slip. No worries.

And Linnnn you crack me up. No its not Henry Thomas but he does look like him a bit.
And yes, its a little grim but this is based upon Gerard Way's (lead singer- writer's) belief that death comes for a person in the form of their fondest memory, in this case seeing a parade as a child. I love the symbolism in the whole album which when performed in its entirety is a rock opera.

Glad u like Meleah and Jen. =)

I was initially surprised at how good these guys really are. They manage to take five-point musical chops, sheet music, electrical instruments, sarcasm, cynicism, brilliant lyrics encompassing both, codas, refrains, standard songwriting, THEATRE, and mix it all into a package that is commercial, accessible and yet UNcommercial, prohibited, tempting, riddled with vices and Truth and reality.

Do you think I've covered them, in this album?

I'd wager, it's one of the best overall albums I've heard in, say, at least ten years.

We did this commonly in the 70s with Progrock. Now? MCR are the exception and NOT the rule.

Awesome, I can't believe I've never seen that video. WAY COOL.

I love songs like that. Never thought of it as an opera. They didn't have those growing up in Oklahoma. HA.

Defiantly good for driving and housework, maybe a little too much thrash for the office. My dormant headbanger is still in there somewhere.
