UD1 - Roomate Chicken/A Crapella

I've decided its time to broaden your horizons on occasion. Whether you want it or not.

The Urban Dictionary is updated daily with words and phrases that are used everyday in polite and not so polite society.

Some of them are noteworthy and definately worth remembering so you can throw them in that conversation your having by the water cooler. You'll sound hip for a hot second. Never fear, I got your back. ;)

Roommate Chicken

The condition where a group of people sharing a living space each avoid doing a household chore for an extended period because each believes it's someone else's responsibility. The idea is that eventually the situation will reach a critical mass where the guilty party will cave in and do the chore. In practice, the situation can escalate to extreme levels.

"I'm not going to do the dishes. It's your turn." "Yeah, but 90% of them are from the dinner you made for your girlfriend. I'm not cleaning up your mess." "I'm not playing roommate chicken with you on this. Clean it up!" "I'll die before I clean your mess." "Fuck you!" "Fuck you!"

My brother and I play this on a regular basis. We do the silent version though. Emptying the dishwasher seems to be the regular roomate chicken game. I win 90% of the time. He's anal about keeping the sink clean and you can't do that if the dishwasher if full. lol ;)
I do lose the vacuuming chicken game though. He could care less if three feet of dog hairs filled the house. pfffffffft.

A Crapella

Singing out loud while listening to music with your headphones on. Whereas the singer gets the benefit of the music, those unfortunate to be standing nearby are subjected to an unaccompanied (and invariably crappy) rendition of the song.

"I wish that guy would turn his iPod off - his a crapella version of Bohemian Rhapsody is killing me"

Let me personally appologize to everyone last night on A1A in Fort Lauderdale right now for my A Crapella while on my evening walk. I just can't help it sometimes. =)

Twofer Tuesday is coming up.

What song were you crapelizing?
It matters because if it were; ZZ Top, Led ZEPP or something of the Ilk. it would be different from LL COOL JAY Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli or Flavor Flav...

Dear peedee,
I LOVE the urban dictionary. It's like a treasure trove of stuff I don't know! But I have to admit, I never looked up roomate chicken and I LOVE a Crapella--it describes everything.

And yes I do it too!

Beryl, I just read about 8 pages of the "cougar" definitions! lmao!
I have a totally different definition.
A female who dates/sleeps with any younger man who by definition is 1/2 her age, plus 7.
So for me thats any guy under 29.
=)
Makes me feel better. lol NOT that I consider myself a cougar! Most definately not.
xoxo ;)

Annie, I just scroll thru the pages and find funny shit on their. I just happened across Roomate Chicken today and it applied to my "roomate" aka: brother and I. lol
Muahs!
