En Fuego

Late yesterday afternoon there where some hellacious thunderstorms building and moving east from the Everglades. They normally don't make it all the way to the beach. Usually kept just to the west of I-95 by the onshore beach breezes. Yesterday afternoon was no different. The elements all worked perfectly by the time early evening was upon us and the storm clouds moved north as the sun was setting.

We were out to dinner at the time, sitting outside on the patio of the restaurant enjoying our margaritas on ice With salt. ;) Slowly an eerie orange glow infiltrates our awareness. It happens so slowly that you don't really notice until you glance outside and see everything is bathed in bright orange. I had to see this so I got up and walked off the patio into the parking lot around a tall hedge line. I look west and saw this.

W.O.W.

Double W.O.W.

I'm positive I missed an even more amazing shot by not noticing this 5 minutes earlier. And these pics do not do it justice, although pretty good for a phone. I've seen some amazing sunsets down here in the last 20 years. I think this one takes the cake.

Awesome pics! I need to be under those palm trees. Vacation! Umbrella drinks! I envy you and the dogs. I'd be just like them...couldn't get me out of the pool.
