Bubble Gum

I took Jake on my walk with me tonight and I was nice to him. We only walked 4 miles instead of my fairly new 5 mile jaunt. I have to get him in a little better shape before I drag him too far. Poor pup was wiped out by the time we got home. I'd take Remi too but he is a (pardon my french) fucking spaz on a leash. My fault I admit, nonetheless its true so its a no go with him. But thats not what this post is about really. Its about bubble gum.

I LOVE bubble gum. More specifically Double Bubble Gum. You know the kind you chewed as a kid when you played baseball softball?? And yes it still loses its flavor after about 5 minutes but it blows the BEST bubbles ever! Big giant sturdy bubbles. I blow really good........ bubbles. Get ur minds out of the gutter.

Back in the day I could fit 10 pieces in my mouth at once. SHUT UP!! Get ur minds out of the damn gutter please. I haven't done that in years. Putting 10 pieces in my mouth at once I mean.

Anyway, I do love my bubble gum and its the ONE thing I havent given up since I've been dieting. In fact I save 6 - 10 carbs of my precious 75max carbs a day for my chewing habit. I go thru a 1lb bag in a week and a half easily.

When I walk I chew. I have a piece when I leave the house and thats replaced 1/3 of the way with a new one and then again a new piece at the 2/3rds mark. Chewing and music.

Tonight while I was walking I was thinking as I was blowing a big ol' bubble about how I chewed to the beat of whatever song was playing. Then it hit me. I thought of a song I havent heard in YEARS.

Chewin' out the rythym on my bubble gum
The sun is out and I want some
Its not hard, not far to reach,
we can hitch a ride to rockaway beach

Up on the roof, out on the street
Down in the playground the hot concrete
Busride is too slow
They blast out the disco on the radio

Rock Rock Rockaway Beach
Rock Rock Rockaway Beach
We can hitch a ride
To Rockaway Beach

It's not hard, not far to reach
We can hitch a ride
To Rockaway Beach

Ramones - Rockaway Beach

I was 12 years old in 1977 when this album came out and I can remember playing it over and over and over again.

I'd be remiss (to only myself I guess) if I didnt post my all time favorite live performance of the Ramones.
Baby I Love You

Hey chicky! I LOOOOOVE blowing bubbles. I usually manage with the sugar free stuff tho. You must have jaws of steel! HA.

Salem can barely make a mile of walking, I feel really bad she is so out of shape and you and Jake are whipping out 5! WOW!

Super behind in time as well. I'm curious about who is consuming your thoughts. Hmmm. Hang in there!

Jesus, I wouldn't even know where I'd go to FIND Double-Bubble anymore. I used to read the comics. Fleer Comics come to mind. Is that another bubble gum company?

Bubbles rock Ange! And Jakes only doing 4 miles lol. And wiped out afterwards!! Start Salem out slow...like half mile at a time. She'll get used to it and it'll be good for her! Also, hope you loving your new job!!

Your thinking of Bazooka bubble gum with the comics BZ and I'm not sure about Fleer. The only thing I know that may have had bubble gum and Fleer together is baseball card packs. I never collected baseball cards though. I was and still to a small extent a football card collector. I probably have 30,000 football cards from the early 80's on. (show me geeky lol)
And it was Rowdy Roddy Piper in They Live! lol He was a horrible actor!

I thought I was the only one who liked the Double Bubble better than Bazooka. I love blowing bubbles with gum!

You can get Double Bubble at...Wal-Mart...sorry WM Haters, but Sam's joint carries big ol' sacks of the stuff pretty reliably.

Sports card collector here too. Some relative threw out all my childhood cards tho. :-(

@Southern Sage: Too funny! And if peedee is 76, I'm 81!

Yes The Observer, Double Bubble is a million times better than Bazooka!!
And I have brought the buckets at Costco a time or two. I just try to limit my visits there to twice a year. The place makes me crazy lol. And such a shame about your cards. We'll have to compare notes on who you have! I had two Dan Marino rookie cards right after they came out but I GAVE them to my brother because he liked him. PFFFFFFFFFFFT!!!! I soooo wish I new what I was giving away! lol

Ahh, The Ramones. I have this song on my iPod and in all 3 of my running playlists. I think I'm a creature of habit.

And don't rank on Roddy. I loved the kilt back in the day.
