The Landlocked Sailor Visit - Part 3, aka: final chapter!

Soooooo, where were we?? Oh, part 3 of the trip to see the sailor. Part 1 is here. And part 2 is here.

On Sunday morning after our breakfast with Angelia and Jason, we were going to visit the home of My Boys!!! The Cowboys new stadium was right down the street from where we stayed in Arlington and this place is so big you can see a glimps of it from everywhere!!

Lauren had brought us tickets to go on the self guided tour and I was beyond excited!! I've loved the Dallas Cowboys since I was 9 years old. I've loved them through the great Superbowl seasons and the shitty 1-15 seasons. I take all the crap that being a Cowboys fan brings with it. I love them. No Matter What. And I was going to see the newest, best stadium ever built. How lucky was I???

We arrived a few minutes early before the 11am opening of the tours so we walked around the pro shop and I drooled on Every Thing. I felt like a kid in a candy shop!!! I did end up getting a practice t-shirt and a hat. At 11am they let us in. I could honestly go on and on and on about this stadium and how flippen awesome it is! But I wont bore you. I will say it truly is Jerry's World and no expense was spared.

I will say that when I finally got up the stairs and walked across the concourse and saw the field with that Giant Star I damn near cried. I've waited a long time to be in my boys home and I felt like I was home.

I'll let the pics do the rest of the talking. And there's a pretty awesome video that I think you'll get a "kick" out of. =)

Me and Tom. Greatest.Coach.EVER.

That HD Television is 50 yards wide. 0_o

I'm On.The.Flippen.Field. OMG!

My two favorite things. My sailor and my star. =)

Just chillen on the field.

YES!!! I was in the LOCKER ROOM!!

The Miller Lite Club. This is where the Boys enter the field. How cool is that!!

And this is special. Very special. How many people can say they've done this....

Scorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre!!! Yeah, my baby rocks!!

I didnt want to leave. =(

I'm not sure Ginormous is a big enough word to describe this place.

We only planned to spend an hour in the stadium but ended up being there 3 hours! There was so much to see and tons of guides with lotsa information. I was in my glory. lol

So we left the stadium and headed back to the OKC. We had to get back and check into our hotel because we had dinner plans. We stayed in Bricktown which is an area in downtown Oklahoma City. We had a great dinner at Crabby Jacks and then watched some fireworks from our room.
I cant get decent fireworks pics for my life. Definately need to work on this skill!

We were too tired to do much else and it was a nice relaxing evening. Totally needed! We stayed at the Marriott and they have the best beds ever that just invite you to snuggle up and sleep. And sleep we did! We were in bed and passed out by 10:30pm and slept till 10:30am the next morning. Sorely needed!!

After sleeping in till 10:30am we got up and prepared for our last day together. It was hard to believe 3 days had just flown by. Lauren wanted to take me to the Oklahoma Federal Building Memorial so we headed that way.

Let me just say that this is the most sad and beautiful place I've been to in a long time. The events that occured there 15 years ago and perpetrated by one of our own citizens just made me angry when I saw the site. Seeing the memorial fills you with sadness and the beauty of it is just inspiring. The hope it inspires made me believe that there are way more good people in this country than bad. If only they could do something like this at the WTC site.

68 Murdered.
Nine rows of chairs representing each floor of the building.
Each chair in the row represents a victim and the floor they were on.

The smaller chairs are the children.

The Tree of Hope. This tree survived the bombing.

I'm so glad they saved this.

Still here 15 years later.

I walked around the memorial with tears in my eyes. This made them fall.

After we left the memorial we went back to one of Laurens buddies house and relaxed. We laughed some more, talked a ton and ate some good Mexican food.
That night I stayed at her barracks with her. The two of us in her twin bed. lol It was just like old times when she was little and wanted to snuggle mommy. =)

5:15am came really quick. She drove me to the airport and we said our goodbyes. No tears though just lots of hugs and kisses. It was a good, satisfying trip that we spent every moment together having nothing but fun. It was just like old times when I had her all to myself. She'll always be my baby, but she is not a baby or a teenager anymore. She is a woman with a life and job and friends of her own. It was awesome to take a peek inside.

Thanks for reading ya'll. ;) Muahs.

Momma's going to OKC!

This time next Friday I'll be hangin with the Sailor in the OKC!!!

Wooooooohoooooo!!

I called her today and she was all bummed about not being able to come home next weekend for the long holiday. She sounded so pitifull. lol
I hate it when she's sad!! She just brought her first car last week so she's financially challenged right now.

So, Mommy doing what Mommy does best brought a plane ticket to go see her from Friday morning until Tuesday morning! She is sooooooo excited that I'm coming out to see where she "works". She's gonna show me the whole base, her planes, where she trains and the whole shabang. I told her to let the single pilots know I'm on my way and she just laughed. lol

We are going to Dallas for a couple of days too. Gonna hit up Six Flags for some much needed roller coaster fun and then tear up the Dallas scene for a day. Then we'll head back to OKC and do some stuff there. She wants to take me to the Memorial from the OKC Bombing. She said I need to see that.
She's so cute and is busy planning away now. I love to make that kid smile and I could feel it through the phone once I called her back and told her I was coming. =)

AND.......She's gonna take me to see the Cowboys new stadium!!! OMG!! I'm so excited to finally see where my Boys play!!

So who knows Dallas?? What are the best places to go?? Where can we get a great steak?? Where are the fun bars?? Is there a district or someplace fun to go?? Tell me what you know!!

Ugh.

I'm so sad. The Cowboys didnt even show up today. As a friend of mine said on Facebook, "What a waste of a playoff game". I almost agree.

Everything looked like it was going so well up till today. I let myself grab onto that glimmer of hope, that this year was gonna be different, that Romo would lead us to the promised land.

Alas, its over. Another season gone.

I'm gonna be at the Pro-bowl this year. In case you didnt know it, the NFL had this bright idea to move it to the Superbowl city (Miami) A WEEK BEFORE THE SUPERBOWL. Personally I give the NFL a FAIL for this. But, I wont complain. It'll be fun and I want to check out the NFL experience stuff that goes on the week before the Superbowl.

The games not until 7:30pm, WHAT??? Its on a school night for flippen sakes!! I got smart and took that Monday off. I have a feeling I might be a tad hungover cause the group of people I'm going with never fail to throw a shit show tailgaiting party.

Oh and the Saturday before the pro-bowlers have practice at Lockhardt Stadium which is right down the street from here. I'm gonna go get my Jason Witten jersey signed. =)

Tony is a cutie.

And Jason Witten is not too shabby either...

The ghost of Christmas 2009

Our Christmas Tree

What a great Christmas. Previously I posted that 4 of the 7 siblings would be together for the first time in many years. Well many years was figured out and the last time this group of siblings was together at one time was 1988.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW!! Where has the time gone?? It almost made me sad to think that we hadnt shared this great holiday with each other in so long. It wasnt for lack of trying but distance apart has a lot to do with it. We live from Massachusettes to New Jersey to Pennsylvania to Texas and Florida. That distance and obligations to other parts of my siblings respective inlaws/families. It was decided that we are going to try and get us ALL together sometime very soon. We need to do this for our parents. They enjoyed this holiday more than us I think. And thats what its about when we (my siblings and I) get to this age. Trying to make your parents happy because at 77 and 75 years old you just never know anymore. So we're shooting for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Which I believe is this summer. =)

Anyway, good times were had, New years Eve was a blast as well. We went to a fabulous club and partied the night away. I drank entirely too much over the past two weeks and think I wont have another adult beverage until at least Memorial Day. Ok, maybe just a little green beverage on St. Patty's.

Lauren was here for just over two weeks and she squeezed and hugged me more than I did it to her. She got me a great Christmas present!!! She brought it with her own money she earned!!! Miracles never cease!! I got a spiffy Dallas Cowboys jersey...Witten!!! One of my favorite players. It was the perfect gift and she put a lot of thought into it and that made it even more special.

She left last Friday right after our New Years Day dinner. It was a sad parting but I vowed I'm going to visit her in Oklahoma in March or April. (fingers crossed!!) Her training has been pushed up so it doesnt look like she'll be making it home again until late next fall. So if thats the case, depending on the needs of the Navy she may wait for Christmas to come home. If she's not on deployment. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

So here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

We only did a tree at my parents since I live next door and Remi likes to eat Christmas trees we thought this was the less stressfull thing to do and it might let him live till after Christmas.

My older sister Debbie and her boyfriend Tery

Can we open presents already?!?!? Lauren's still a little kid when it comes to Christmas Morning. =)

After a long night out with her old buddies a nap was in order. Remi <3's him some Lauren.

Lauren plays with the boys in the back yard.

We frolicked on the beach one afternoon with our neighbor George....

This says it all. =)

We were here at Midnight on New Years Eve. This is Manor a new club and it is off the chain!! The music is pumpin and my god hott mens everywhere. Great club that we went to multiple times over that past two weeks. I will go again soon!!

I guess thats it for now. I hope you all had a great Christmas as well.

We need a win

EDIT: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! How 'Bout Them Cowboys!!! Hell yeah, knocked the S'aints off!

My boys, THE Dallas Cowboys need a win Saturday night. It might just save our season, and it'll knock the s'AINTS off that pedestal.

Not to mention, a win in December would be nice. And unique at this point.

Now this is a TV and it makes my 65incher look like a pimple on the ass of HD.
