Stoopid Stomach & other updates

I got sick again this week. My stomach or large intestine more exactly don't like me for some reason and choose to get infected every so often. It happened last summer and I talked about it here.

It started a week and a half ago when I ended up in the ER overnight with those massive pains again.  Got some pain meds and an IV of antibiotics and I left.  Against the docs will. He wanted to keep me but I wasnt having it.  I got sick again less than a week later.  Therefore, I did a couple of days in the hospital with IV antibiotics and some not so fun test by the GI Doc.  Lets just say I'm not a virgin anymore.....anywhere. stoopid.

So alls well. I have something or other and all will be ok as long as I take prevacid and some other drug on a daily basis. I dont care, as long as that pain never comes back again.  I'll take the meds.

Other updates:
I've hit a milestone in the weight loss. -50lbs as of today. I started with a personal trainer earlier this week and just a few more lbs to go. Its really just toning at this point. I must admit, I'm happy with the changes. My confidence (in some areas) is up and my outlook on life is 1,000% improved.  Work is good, boring but good.  Now if I could just find someone to love me, all would be well.
I think.

My shoulder is healing well.  I have full range of motion passively (when the therapist moves it) and almost a full range when moving it myself.  I've started using weights to strengthen it.  Should be throwing a ball, not hard, by December according to the doc.  He's impressed with my progress.

I got some cool pics over the last couple of weeks so I thought I'd share.  Click on any of the pics to enlarge them.
There were tons of seagulls. And I mean tons!!  Kinda scary!! lol

They remind me of the Angels in one of my favorite movies, City of Angels.  The Angels go and watch the sunrise and sunset everyday.
And this was a few days ago.  I haven't touched this photo.  Its exactly how it was taken.
On FIRE!!!
Cute lifeguard was frolicking in the surf.  ;)

Yes, more seagulls.  I liked these two.

And now that I look at them....I wonder....are these seagulls??  I dunno.

Thats it.  Have a good weekend all.  I promise, pinky swear to get around to everyones blogs this weekend.  I have been a slacker.

Bad & Good - Good & Bad

I'm 6 weeks post-op of my shoulder surgery (rotator cuff tear). FUCK this is taking forever! I've been a good girl too! PT 3 x's a week religiously and following all the rules. I finally got about 90% range of motion via Passive movement. The therapist does all the moving of the arm. Each day it moves a little further. Its painful as hell while he's doing the movement, but no pain, no gain. And it doesn't really hurt that bad once he stops moving it. Somedays its a little achy later in the day. When I first leave PT my arm feels like I played a game of dead-arm and lost. Remember that game?? I used to it play with my brothers. I lost then too. lol

Today I got to start resistance movement. Yippeeeeeee! Its the beginning of the end of PT kids. Its not building muscle, just getting the muscles used to moving my own arm again. I've been out of the sling for about 3 weeks. Came out of that way early after begging the doc. I couldn't stand it. He gave in. =)

So that being said, I am now moving my arm on its own. Given permission to do the movement has me cruising along at record speed.

I am sleeping better at night. I still wake up, but not nearly as much as before. I'm sleeping enough that I'm not a cranky bitch all day so thats a bonus. lol

So that brings me to excercising. I have hardly excercised since I had the surgery. I tried walking again a few weeks ago, but I just can't do it. Its so boring I'd rather watch weeds grow. I tried, I swear. I fell June 30th and have done little to no excercise since. I was really losing the weight and toning up beautifully when I was blading. It was the catalyst to the curves I rediscovered my body had. I was blowing thru 15 mile runs 4-5 nights a week. I miss rollerblading with a passion. I dream of it some nights lol.....I MISS IT SO BAD!!

The great news is that I have not gained any weight back. I weigh myself every week or so and I've gone up and down a couple of pounds since I fell but never more than 2lbs in either direction. I do eat more than when I was dieting but not nearly as much as I used to pre-diet. I definately changed my eating habits over that 4+ months and its sticking. .

So I'm going tomorrow morning to a park up in Pompano Beach with my boss who used to rollerblade with me all the time. Its right next to where the Good Year Blimp's hanger is. Its got a five mile bike loop around this park with pristine smooth path. Super smooth and no rocks. No curbs, no cross streets, no cars stopping or turning in front of you. Its easy peasy and its perfect for blading.

I can't wait any longer. I need to excercise.

I promised before and after pics awhile back. I have delayed doing this because I am not done. I lost 44lbs and have kept it off like I said. I still have probably 15-20lbs to lose. I'm not so worried about the final number because I'm more looking to lose my gut, which is not nearly as bad as it was, and to tone up and get some definition. I don't like pics of myself. I take horrible pictures. I don't mind my body (NOW) so much but ugh I just don't like the pics. You'll see.

This was around Christmas last year. I was peaking at my heaviest weight ever.
Fatty McFatty

Look at the arm in the pic above....look below. This was May 11th. Almost two months into the weight loss that I started March 15th. I had lost 27lbs at this point.
I can't wear this shirt anymore. Its too big.

This is a telling pic. I don't necessarily like it, but its shows a definate difference.

This is the weekend of Laurens birthday, July 24th. I'm on the right.

So thats it so far. More lbs to lose and I'm gonna get back on track.
Have a great weekend all! Muahs

12/32

The boys, errr I mean men in the audience may not appreciate or "get" this post quite as much as the women will.

A couple of days ago my sister, Ginger gave me a pair of jeans. She said, "I think these might fit you now, try them out". So I took them and they sat in my room for a couple of days. I didnt look at them or check them out at all. Afterall, Ginger is in shape and has a kickass body. She and my kid Lauren share most clothes. I was left out of that fun because of my fat ass blubber body.

This morning I was feelin a little brave when I got out of the shower and thought about the jeans. We all look in the mirror and see how things stand. At least I do and now more than ever. I've seen the transformation happening and thought to myself, today might be the day. I looked over to where the jeans were laying on my trunk. They were in the exact same spot where they landed when I threw them there the other day. I had a momentary thought, "No Way" would I fit in Gingers jeans and almost lost my nerve. I didnt want to try them on to find they didnt fit and get bummed out. Then I thought, "fuck it, lets try them on for shits and giggles to see how much more I had to go before they'd fit". I would treat them like a goal of sorts.

I didnt hold them up, didnt look at the brand and certainly didnt look at the size. I just went for it. I put one leg in the pants and then the other. The true test was yet to come....would they slide up and over my hips. Low and behold they did!!!!! And not only that they actually buttoned with little to no effort. WTF?????? These must be Gingers fat jeans. I went over to the full length mirror and just stood there looking. I damn near cried.

They looked good! I had on jeans that hugged my hips, ass and thighs and they looked GOOD!

Still in disbelief I decided to push my luck and check out the size. I took them off and noticed the brand first....Lucky Brand Jeans. Wow, I cant wear Lucky Brand because they dont fit me! The size tag was next.....huh??? What the hell?? They have to be mislabeled. Fucking 32's??!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! I cant wear a 32 inch waist!!

I was wearing a 32 inch waist pant today and looking good. I got compliment after compliment at work. Not that I havent had people saying I'm looking good and they can see a difference lately. But I'm still wearing all my old shorts and they are 4 x's bigger and baggy now.

Today I looked good in jeans in the first time in a long time.

When Ginger got home tonight she flipped out when she saw me. She made me come to her place and try on a bunch of other jeans and shorts she had. I got into American Eagle Womens 12's tonight!!

Even though the contest is over at work I still weigh in on the scale at there to keep it consistent. I only weigh myself once a week on Fridays. Almost 3lbs more gone as of today. =) Thats 40lbs total so far if you've been paying attention. lol It makes me a little giddy!

My goal has changed. I was trying to lose 12 more lbs, but I think its going to be 20lbs instead. Its the weight I was before I was preggers with Lauren. I think thats what its going to take to look totally in shape.

It feels so good to be getting my body back. I like it.

Sore, Tired and Happy

Summer softball league started this week and I didnt just make it on one team.....not two.....but three teams!!

My goodness I'm beat. Played 3 nights this week and sore is not a strong enough word. But it feels good.

I knew I was playing on Tuesday nights with a non corporate team that a couple of us put together. Its a pretty competative team and we are good. We are talking probably (hopefully) championship good. And my company team is Wednesday nights. I just got called this afternoon to play on another corporate team (Thursdays).

Good stuff and all three teams are good with decent players. That makes me happy 'cause I'm just a little competative. =)

I've also brought a pair of K2 Roller Blades and started doing that instead of walking. 3 months of walking has gotten B.O.R.I.N.G. I havent bladed in over 5 years but apparently its like riding a bike.

When Lauren was around 11 or 12 y/o her and a bunch of neighborhood kids would play roller hocky in the cul-de-sac EVERY afternoon. Another mom and I would play with them. Thats how I learned to skate and I was pretty good. But one of the things learning to skate by playing hockey does is make you dependant on the stick for balance. I have to skate with a hockey stick or I'm not comfortable. Needless to say, I brought a stick when I picked up my blades last week.
These are the K2 blades I got. Aren't they purdy?????

Saturday morning my boss and I met up O'effin bright and early (7:30AM!) and went for a nice 10 mile jaunt. First time out and nothing like going so far I want to puke by the time we were done. We had planned on skating the beach but made the mistake of meeting and parking on the WEST side of the Los Olas bridge. The beach is on the EAST side of said bridge. UGH!

Roller blades + not having skated in 5 years + big ass bridge = OMG, PLEASE DONT LET ME FALL AND BUST MY ASS IN FRONT OF A MILLION PEOPLE.

I did it. lol I was not falling no matter what. Falling hurts!

So thats what I'm doing 4 nights a week. And yes, I even do it on nights I play softball. I go every other night, so if a game falls on a skating night, so be it! I skate to Beach Place and back to my house x's 2 so thats 10 miles for sure. Or I just go from my house to the beach and north for a bit. Either way its good stuff! I missed roller blading and its a good workout! And I'm getting really good at going over the bridge!!

As of last Friday I'm down a total of 37lbs. I'm hoping another 2 - 3lbs when I weigh myself tomorrow. I slacked off for about two weeks right around the time Lauren was in town because I wasnt losing weight and got frustrated. So I decided to just take a break and believe it or not it worked. I actually lost a little weight the weeks I didnt do a whole lot. I still didnt eat that much, but I didn't excercise like I had been. I really think the walking is what was making a huge difference. Anyway, I'm back on track and blading my ass off!

Have a great weekend All!!!!

P.S. Gia and I met and had lunch yesterday down at the Beach!! Then we came back to the compound and she got to meet Jake and Remi!! We hung out by the pool for a bit chit-chatting while the boys swam. I then gave her directions to get to the highway and she was off to spend some time with her daughter and grandkids. It was so cool to hang with her. Love me some Gia!!!

You all know your welcome to stop by or message me if you're ever in Fort Lauderdale. We can meet up and have a bite or a drink and chat about everything! Thats what Gia and I did!!

Fatty McFatty No More

Awhile back, like 10 weeks ago I wrote a post - you can read it here, about being fed up and frustrated with my life. I made some goals and the time is about right to let you know how they've come along.

Here is an excerp from that post.....

That being said this is what I'll be doing in the near future.

1) Starting tomorrow I WILL be a non-smoker. I am quitting. Even if quitting is for losers. I spend over $220.00 a month on ciggs. C'mon. Thats insane if anything is. I could take two months worth of that and go see my kid. I've been wanting to quit for awhile now. I am ready. Actually excited to start the process and get the worst of it overwith. I've done it before and lasted 8 months. I can do this.

2) In two weeks at work we will be starting something called Rock Your Body. Its a weight loss contest and just plain old getting in shape/eating better/living better program. Its 10 weeks long and my goal is to lose 40-50 lbs. I am waaaaaaaay too chubby and believe me I dont diet. I can count on two fingers in my life when I have. But I've slowly crept up the scale in the last 20 years and its just not acceptable to me anymore to be this weight. I will always be a "butter face" even with a good body and I've come to accept that and I cant change that part of me. I can change how my body looks and make it more acceptable and pleasing to the eye.

3) I've signed up for a 5k race on the Sunday before Rock Your Body ends. I think its May 26th. Even if I cant run the whole thing by then I will complete it. I'm not a runner, never have been so this is totally out of my realm. Training starts next Monday for this.

Ok, so number one....FAIL. Smoking is a disgusting, nasty, dabillitating habit. Its like fucking crack rock. I might as well be a crackhead because I was as successfull as one of them trying to quit. I tried really hard at least 5-7 times to quit when I started this whole change process and its not happening. The failure was starting to affect my success in the other catagories and my ability to NOT murder someone and go to jail so I quit quitting and focused on the other stuff. pfffffft.

Number two....SUCCESS. I started the Rock Your Body wieght loss contest at work and have lost 30lbs so far. My goal of 40-50lbs was probably a little ambitious for 10 weeks so I still consider it a success. I am continueing the effort until I reach my goal of 50lbs total lost. So 20 more lbs to go. Tomorrow is the official weigh in for the end of the contest.

I did it by cutting carbs. Not completely like the Atkins diet but kept the number low. In the beginning I was only eating 50-75 carbs a day. OMG hard to do!! I didnt worry about counting calories because by keeping the carbs so low my caloric intake per day had to be insanely low. I'm now eating 100 - 125 carbs a day and its still working. I'm losing 1-3 lbs per week depending on excercise.

My eating habits have changed 10 fold because of this diet. I no longer eat "anything" my heart desires. I pick and choose how I want to spend my "carbs" per day. Its made for much healthier eating habits and a few treats thrown in for good measure. I am down 4 pants sizes, three shirt sizes and overall feel much healthier. The only bad thing to come from this diet is that along with losing my ginormous ass and gut I'm losing my boobs. GAH!! I really didnt have a lot to start with. So I'm sad about that but I suppose if I really want to I can get some fake ones.

Now for number three. I consider this a partial FAIL somedays and partial SUCCESS others. The 5K race that I'd signed up for at the beginning of this quest was yesterday and I "Wogged" it. That word is compliments of Gia and means I walked/jogged the 5k.

I started walking 10 weeks ago and when I started I was doing 3 miles about 3 nights a week. I'm now up to 5 miles, 5 nights a week. I was supposed to start running and get make myself into a runner. Thats not happening people. I'm just not a runner. I mean I ran some of the race yesterday but not nearly enough of it. I tried to make myself a runner. I see all these people jogging past me on my walks and I envy them sooo much. When I try it ends up badly. My knees dont like running. My lungs dont like running. My brain cant wrap itself around running.

Now the good thing about all the walking I've been doing is it seems to be working on my fat ass anyway. =) When I did run yesterday I felt (or didnt feel) something amazing. When I first started trying to run 10 weeks ago it was so uncomfortable. It felt like shit was bouncing around everywhere on my body. Boobs, hips, ass and thighs all bouncing with no restraint. Uncomfortable. When I ran yesterday.....it was so nice not to feel my ASS HITTING MY BACK!!! Hell yeah!! So I guess there is some success to this part of the story. Oh and I did finish the race. I ran across that finish line and I wasnt LAST. There were a ton of people behind me!!!

So thats my story. And I promised you all before and after pics along with the numbers on the scale. This part is whats going to make hitting "publish post" hard. I'm not a big fan of my face. Especially in pictures.

I started this quest at 208lbs. Yeah, lardass, fatty mcfatty, bubble butt, fatso all were acceptable terms. Its that number and seeing pictures of myself that finally made me realize something had to be done. I'd always been 150 - 160 lbs from the time I was in high school until about 15 years ago. I was never gonna be a swimsuit model or anorexic. Its just how the women in my family are built. We are athletes and have atheletic bodies. Today I weigh 178 so really only 18 more to go!

Lauren (my kid) and Ginger (my sister) are both 160lbs. And they look good!
See!! Its in my genes, just gotta get back there!
Lauren and Ging

So that being said, here is the before....

Taken fall last year...I probably put on another 5lbs or so after this before I started dieting in March. Thats my fatass on the left. UGH. =/

Yesterday at the completion of the 5K...(Thats my friend and boss Valerie. She has the patience of a saint to deal with me on a daily basis. And then to hang with me on the weekends too!)

Been there got the shirt.....

My arms are much skinnier now....

And I have a neck now. No more 3 chins...

And this is yesterday afternoon sometime or other. We had peeps over at the pool and someone who shall remain nameless, ahem, ::cough:: cough:: Cory was playing with my camera. If you only new the pics he took. ;)

So thats it! You got the whole story or at least the story up to this point. lol When I lose the other 20lbs we'll see how that looks in pics.

Thank you all for the support throught these last 10 weeks. It helps immensly. Between here and Facebook I've got a lot of friends who care and that really does feel good!
Muahs!!

I Think I Shall Re-Name This Month, Random

I discovered this weekend that I scream the same way whether I'm being devoured by a Great White shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot. =/
True story. And I hope all you people who were on the beach laughing at me while I was screaming and walking on water to get out of the ocean have your crotch infested with a thousand sand fleas. AND I HOPE YOUR ARMS ARE TOO SHORT TO SCRATCH. Real funny, fuhkers.

So after my little scare with the Great White seaweed I spent the weekend oohing and ahhing over new clothes. Not my intent mind you but sometimes shit happens. I went to get new sneakers. I'm walking so much my Nike Shox are about worn out.

I go shopping for new kicks and come home with new shirts (smaller!), adorable new white cotton capri pants (they are so beachy!! and 3 sizes smaller!) and new undies (2 sizes smaller). Apparently my ass hasn't shrunk as much as my waist yet. Still a little junk in the trunk but it'll get there eventually! I really didnt want to buy clothes yet because I still have more weight to lose. Its all good though. Just a little sumthin sumthin to tide me over! =)

I did say I didnt get sneakers right?? Yeah, couldnt find any I liked. WTH?? Finish Line, Foot Locker and Lady Foot Locker each have 4 bagillion pairs of sneakers to choose from and I couldnt find any that I liked?!?! Can you say annoying??

I only shop at Abercrombie & Fitch for the bags. Being this hot should be illegal. And all of a sudden I feel like a cougar for even thinking what I'm thinking about this man-boy. ugh.

And because this is the month of random....I found this and thought of you Annie! I hope Cosmo's surgery has cured the gaks and he feels better soon!!

I just got back from the Dark Side...they lied about the candy.

Would it be complaining if I told you how crazy my week has been?? Again!!
I think I was saying this just last week. I'm not sure whats going on but I'm busier than a mosquito at a nudist colony. For real!

My life is random these days. So, random this post shall be.

First things first...
Armed Forces Day 15 May 2010. Men and Women stand on the wall today saying to evil; "Come No Further". God bless our Troops! Thank you ALL for keeping us safe. I love you my sailor, LJD!!!

This popped up on my ipod during my walk last night. Its been a long time since I've heard it and I've missed this song.
Love Love Love the acoustic versions of all their songs.
All American Rejects - Gives You Hell(acoustic)

Jake has been going on my walks with me a couple nights a week.
Why don't I take Remi you ask?? Because Remi is my special child who will NOT cross the top of the intracoastal bridge. You know the metal part that opens to let big ass boats through. Yeah, that part. Its only about 20 yards wide really. Well we found this out halfway over the bridge last week when he nearly jumped off the bridge when cars started going over said metal part and making loud noises. I had to practically lay on top of him to keep him from jumping. Once the cars were gone I carried his ass the rest of the way over the bridge.
I woulda jumped in the water after him in case you thought otherwise.

I pass by the mall every night when I walk and last night there was not one but three flippen hot cars parked in front. Stoopid amount of money sitting right there.

On my way back, I couldn't resist...
Lambo

Ferrari #1

Ferrari #2

I definitely think I'll take the red one. It'll match my house.....remember my house on the beach?? I certainly haven't forgotten it. I dream about that stupid house, amongst other things at night.

I am 6lbs from the weight I was in this pic. Lauren was probably a year old here. So yeah, its been awhile since I've seen this number.

Before you ask......No, I have no idea what the hell that cheesy smile is on my face for and yes it was a mullet. Shut it!
The big story here people is minus 27lbs so far as of last Monday. I have 23lbs more to lose. I'm getting there. =)

And I'll leave you with the Dixie Chicks.

I wanna sleep on the hard ground
In the comfort of your arms
On a pillow of blue bonnets
And a blanket made of stars

Oh it sounds good to me

I said cowboy take me away
Fly this girl as high as you can
Into the wild blue
Set me free oh I pray
Closer to Heaven above
And closer to you
Closer to you
