Frog Lamp Has a New Home

My BFF Joshua with his new Frog Lamp!! He saw it and said, "Wow. Umm thats, umm, really cool". I think he's going to give a spot of honor out in his backyard with all his other frogs in his garden.

Edith from Mrs. Bunkers Chainsaw Emporium has a little problem with a hoarding hubby. In fact Archie brought home this lovely little frog lamp. For what? Who the eff knows. Thats what hoarders do, bring home useless shit that you dont need or want. You can read about that little incident here.

Anyway, my buddy Josh loves him some frogs. In fact he collects them. This being known by his bff (read: me), I immediatly offered to purchase this lovely item and take it off Ediths hands. And Edith, being a lovely kind hearted lady(read: desperate to get rid of it) said, "No, you just send me your address and that lamps yours!"

So, yesterday afternoon as promised, said frog lamp arrived! Oh boy is it a beauty. Hand made with love for sure by some weird ass backwoods grass muncher.

Thanks Edith. You made my day and then I got to make my friends day. ;)

He died two days after this.

This rivals a call I once ran for a suicide by shotgun. The older gentleman had set the gun up, sat in the chair putting the muzzle under his chin and pulled the trigger. He was alive and much worse, aware of what went terribly wrong when we arrived on scene. Without getting too graphic, his face was gone. I was an EMT and in Paramedic school at the time so the county medic intubated him. I dont know how he did it, but he did. He ended up passing away the next day. This call was one of the few times I almost threw up after it was over. This video brought that man back to me like it was yesterday.

Remi Roooooooo

Me and Roo the day we met. =)

Remi is the first dog that I ever brought for myself. All mine. Yeah, I shared him with Lauren, but she was in college already when I got him and now in the Navy so she doesnt see him all that much. Plus he was a puppy and teenagers/young adults are annoyed by puppies that arent little and cute but leggy and annoying and eat your sandals and anything you leave laying around.
I brought him for my birthday. We drove to Ocala to pick him up and he was sooo squishy and cute. He slept in his cage for the first 3 nights, then I needed sleep so, on the bed he came with Jake and I. He's been there since. ;)

I've wanted to use the name Remington (nickname Remi) for a dog since I was little. Problem was, no one else in my family liked it so it always got passed up when we got new dogs.


I love this boy. So much.

I wish I was a cougar - maybe...

My lord, are they just getting more cute as I get older? Is this normal?? Peanut gallery thats over 45 chime in, cause I gotta know if I wanna be a cougar or not. Some days I WISH I was 25 again....not just in mind (cause I am only 25 in my mind), but in body.

This man is one hott mess. The smile, the dimple, the teeth, the uniform, the smile oops said that already. And he flies a fighter jet! Did I mention the uniform?!?

Now Meredith is a little creepy. Like I'd announce on national TV that I'm a old horny woman...ummm, no, not so much.

Ok, the heats been crankin for over a week now. 92+ degree days (heat index over 100), our low tonight is going to be 81 degrees(!) and the relief is not supposed to hit till sometime late this week or next weekend. Relief being highs in the mid 80's.

Scorcher is not the word for it lately. My AC electric bill is going to be as bad as Augusts. So much for levelized payments. pfft.

I feel like a prune. Well, not really, cause a prunes all dried up. I'm water logged so I look like a prune. The visuals are definately not flattering here. I'm talkin about the fact that I spent the whole weekend in the pool. And I'm getting far too tan for this time of year.



p.s. Some bad news: Remi had a full on hard core seizure yesterday. I watched him run from the pool area towards the patio area and midway, mid stride go down like a ton of bricks in full on seizure. Eyes rolled back, full body spasming that lasted about a minute. He was postdictal as well, really confuzed afterwards for about 5 minutes. And even after that, he just wanted to lay down for a bit which is totally out of character for him. Absolutely heartbreaking to see. My mom saw it and just broke down. I felt bad for her, I didnt want her to see this.

She went home early yesterday and didnt come in today. She's been diagnosed. With Swine Flu.
